Prior to the Civil war, Glenfield was once a boosting Cotton Plantation with over 2000 acres. The antebellum home was built in two separate architectural periods capturing both Spanish and English Gothic style. Glenfield Plantation (formerly called Glencannon Plantation) is listed on both the State and National Register of Historical Places and is a State of Mississippi Landmark.
